Sunday, June 1 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Dungeons and Dragons. The ASOC Dungeon and Dragons Group journey continues. The cost is $15 per person and food and drink will be served. All participants must be dues-paying ASOC Members. Note that there are three sessions: 12-1:30 pm (Teens), 1:45-3:15 pm (Adult-Group 1); 3:30-5:00 pm (Adult-Group 2).

Sunday, June 8 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM- Sundays with Animat. Mat Brunet, also known as AniMat, is a Canadian that loves animation and Disney. So much so that his love became an animation historian, a film critic and a major cartoon fan. On his YouTube channel, ElectricDragon505, he creates web series that are all based on his passions, including Animation Lookback, where he looks at the entire history of animation studios and animators like Walt Disney Animation Studios and Don Bluth.

This month we will be discussing Dragons in Animation, as we prepare for the upcoming remake of How to Train Your Dragon.

Sunday, June 14 from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM- ASOC Toastmaster Gavel Club. Learn communication, public speaking and leadership skills, while having fun and making friends! Individuals eligible to participate are ASOC adult members and prospective adult members with Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism or PDD-NOS, and who are ages 18 or over. Family and friends ages 18 or over are also welcome to join! There will be a one-time materials fee of $26.

Monday, June 16 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM- Spectrum Speakers: Meet the Life Coaches: A life coach is like a personal trainer—but for your mindset, goals, and overall life direction. They’re someone who helps individuals gain clarity, build confidence, and create actionable plans to achieve personal or professional aspirations. Unlike therapists who focus on healing past traumas, life coaches primarily look forward, guiding people to unlock their potential and make meaningful progress.

In this session you will meet three effective life coaches who work closely with their autistic clients – specifically Tom Iland, Mo Bailey, and Luke Lorefice.

Saturday, June 21 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – ASOC Women’s Discussion Group. Join Dive into an enriching women-exclusive discussion tailored specifically for individuals aged 18 and above diagnosed with (or suspecting) Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, or PDD-NOS. The session will be helmed by renowned Asperger’s specialist, Zhara Astra.  The fee is $20 per session for dues paying ASOC members and $30 for non-members. ​

 Sunday, June 22 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM- Gantman Conquering Emotions Series – Managing Anger. Anger or when someone has a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility is normal. However, people on the spectrum can become angry and aggressive very quickly and find it hard to deal with their anger. This session will include a discussion on anger triggers and methods for managing outbreaks.

There is a $20 fee for members and $30 fee for non-members. Please note that you must execute an ASOC Liability Waiver to attend this meeting.

Sunday, June 22 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM – ASOC Gathering at Chase Coffee Roasters. Join us at the Chase Coffee Roasters in Fullerton for a casual get-together. Play UNO, eat a snack, or chat. Please feel free to bring your own favorite board or card game. This event is open to all ASOC Families. Please note that ASOC is for teens, adults, and their families. We currently do not have programming for younger children.

 Saturday, June 28 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM – Partner Support: ASOC Partner Book Club. ASOC’s wonderful support group for spouses, partners, and significant others of individuals with high-functioning Autism and Asperger’s is offering a book club. These sessions will be facilitated by coach and author, Kealah Parkinson. During each meeting we will work together through a chapter of her book, sharing experiences and lessons-learned. You do not need to have previously attended a partner group meeting to attend. The price is $20 per person.

This meeting provides an opportunity to interact with other ASOC members about the challenges we are all facing as part of the ASD community. Know that we are here for each other. We have separate meetings for adults on the spectrum and parents.
