Hosted by Autism Society Inland Empire In partnership with Autism Spectrum Therapies. Join us for a sports‑themed day of fun for Orange County families with a child, teen, or adult with Autism! Sunday, February 8 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Dungeons and Dragons. The ASOC Dungeon and Dragons Group journey continues. The cost is $15 per person and food, and drink will be served. All participants must be dues-paying ASOC Members. Note that there are three sessions: 12-1:30 pm (Teens), 1:45-3:15 pm (Adult-Group 1); 3:30-5:00 pm (Adult-Group 2). Monday, February 9 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM – ASOC Navigating Government Benefits. Navigating the various public benefits available for children and adults with disabilities can be extremely challenging for families. Government agencies have differing disability and financial eligibility criteria. Parents are many times overwhelmed by the various systems and many times do not even know what questions to ask. Jim Huyck, Advocate/Consultant for Public Benefits will be the speaker.
He will discuss applying for and receiving public benefits including SSI, SSDI, SSDI/DAC, MediCal, MediCare, IHSS, Regional Center, Special Education and Department of Rehabilitation.
Jim will do a deeper dive into how to approach employment when receiving Social Security benefits.

Saturday, February 14 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM- ASOC Toastmaster Gavel Club. Learn communication, public speaking and leadership skills, while having fun and making friends! Individuals eligible to participate are ASOC adult members and prospective adult members with Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism or PDD-NOS, and who are ages 18 or over. Family and friends ages 18 or over are also welcome to join! There will be a one-time materials fee of $26.

Sunday, February 15 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM- ASOC Gathering at Chase Coffee Roasters. Join us at the Chase Coffee Roasters in Fullerton for a casual get-together. Play UNO, eat a snack, or chat. Please feel free to bring your own favorite board or card game. This event is open to all ASOC Families. Please note that ASOC is for teens, adults, and their families. We currently do not have programming for younger children.
