Orange County Aspergers Support Group has become Autism Society Orange County (ASOC)! 🎉

Saturday, May 2 from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM – Blu Star Film Festival. Autism Society Orange County is delighted to be partnering with Blu Star Productions!  The inaugural Blu Star Film Festival will be held at the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana this coming May 2nd. It will also be livestreamed online. The event will highlight the work of local neurodivergent filmmakers, artists, and musicians, placing inclusion in film and media at the forefront. This festival aims to foster a sense of community while giving autistic and neurodivergent filmmakers a chance to see their work on the big screen. Sunday, May 3 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM – ASOC Outing – Board and Card Games. Join us for a fun afternoon of board and card games! Drinks and snacks will be provided.  All attendees must be associated with a dues-paying ASOC Member.

Monday, May 4 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM – Gantman Adults: Share concerns and get advice with Autism Expert, Dr. Alexander Gantman. There is a $20 fee for members and $30 fee for non-members. Please note that you must execute an ASOC Liability Waiver to attend this meeting.

Saturday, May 9 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM – ASOC Toastmaster Gavel Club. Learn communication, public speaking and leadership skills, while having fun and making friends! Individuals eligible to participate are ASOC adult members and prospective adult members who are ages 18 or over. Family and friends ages 18 or over are also welcome to join!

Monday, May 11 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM – ASOC ONLINE – Learn About Benefits from Autism Society Los Angeles.   Kim Sinclair, Executive Director, and Andy Kopito, President of Autism Society of LA will share about their organization, including Social Security Benefits Vs. Regional Center Benefits, Protecting Eligibility for Benefits, ABLE Accounts, Special Needs Trusts, and Section 8 Housing.

Wednesdays, May 13 and 20 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM – Understanding Money- We all know it’s important to learn how to manage our money well. So we’re very excited to announce that, back by popular demand, ASOC will be offering its second free financial literacy class to help you do just that. It’s on Zoom on consecutive Wednesday nights, May 13 and 20, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 17 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM – ASOC Gathering at Chase Coffee Roasters. Join us at the Chase Coffee Roasters in Fullerton for a casual get-together. Play UNO, eat a snack, or chat. Please feel free to bring your own favorite board or card game. This event is open to all ASOC Families.

This meeting provides an opportunity to interact with other ASOC members about the challenges we are all facing as part of the Autism community. Know that we are here for each other.
