The ASOC Dungeon and Dragons Group journey continues. The cost is $15 per person and food and drink will be served. All participants must be dues-paying ASOC Members. Note that there are three sessions: 12-1:30 pm (Teens), 1:45-3:15 pm (Adult-Group 1); 3:30-5:00 pm (Adult-Group 2).

Saturday, March 8 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM- ASOC Toastmaster Gavel Club. Learn communication, public speaking and leadership skills, while having fun and making friends! Individuals eligible to participate are ASOC adult members and prospective adult members with Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism or PDD-NOS, and who are ages 18 or over. Family and friends ages 18 or over are also welcome to join! There will be a one-time materials fee of $26.

Sunday, March 9 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM- Sundays with AniMat. Ready for fun. Join Mat Brunet, better known as AniMat, as he leads discussions of animation, movies, and all things Disney. Sunday afternoons will never be the same. This month we will be discussing the history of Looney Tunes as we celebrate the upcoming release of The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie.

Saturday, March 15 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – ASOC Women’s Discussion Group. Join Dive into an enriching women-exclusive discussion tailored specifically for individuals aged 18 and above diagnosed with (or suspecting) Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, or PDD-NOS. The session will be helmed by renowned Asperger’s specialist, Zhara Astra.  The fee is $20 per session for dues paying ASOC members and $30 for non-members. ​

Sunday, March 16 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – ASOC Friends and Fun Scavenger Hunt. Exclusively for Friends and Fun Member we will hosting a scavenger hunt at a Huntington Beach park. This activity is exclusively for members of the ASOC Friends and Fun Program and is by invitation only.

Sunday, March 16 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM – ASOC Gathering at Chase Coffee Roasters. Join us at the Chase Coffee Roasters in Fullerton for a casual get-together. Play UNO, eat a snack, or chat. Please feel free to bring your own favorite board or card game. This event is open to all ASOC Families. Please note that ASOC is for teens, adults, and their families. We currently do not have programming for younger children.

Monday, March 17 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM – ASOC ONLINE: Introduction to the Department of Developmental Services Autism Services Branch.  Meet Dr. Lauren Libero, Autism Specialist, and Dr. Monica Hudnall, Autism Training Director, as they provide an overview of the California Developmental Services system and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Autism Services Branch, and highlight recent DDS programs and initiatives, as well as some helpful resources for individuals and families.

Thursday, March 27 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Autism In Entertainment Creator Community.  Autism In Entertainment is an initiative of ASOC with the goal of increasing employment for individuals on the Spectrum in the entertainment industry. This is a gathering of adults are interested in a career in Entertainment. AIE Creator Community is led by Alex Astrella, Founder of Blu Star Productions and will feature Nic Novicki, Founder/Director, Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. LEARN MORE

Saturday, March 29 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM- ASOC Partner Book Club. ASOC’s wonderful support group for spouses, partners, and significant others of individuals with high-functioning Autism and Asperger’s is offering a book club. These sessions will be facilitated by coach and author, Kealah Parkinson. During each meeting we will work together through a chapter of her book, sharing experiences and lessons-learned. You do not need to have previously attended a partner group meeting to attend. The price is $20 per person.

Sunday, March 30 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Gantman Conquering Emotions: Handling Anxiety: Share concerns and get advice with Autism Expert, Dr. Alexander Gantman. There is a $20 fee for members and $30 fee for non-members. Please note that you must execute an ASOC Liability Waiver to attend this meeting.  If you sign up for all four sessions, then you will receive one-year’s Basic Membership in ASOC.

This meeting provides an opportunity to interact with other ASOC members about the challenges we are all facing as part of the ASD community. Know that we are here for each other. We have separate meetings for adults on the spectrum and parents.
