In this engaging talk, author Lisa Jacovsky shares the inspiring journey behind her award-winning children’s books and her mission to promote inclusion, understanding, and positivity around autism. Lisa discusses the real-life experiences that inspired her to write stories that encourage children to embrace differences and spark meaningful conversations within families.
A key highlight of her presentation is her collaboration with Brainstorm Productions; a groundbreaking company that provides creative opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum. Sunday, August 3 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Parents Ask the Experts with Dr. Gantman: You are invited to attend a Parent’s Sessions led by Autism expert, Psychologist Dr. Alex Gantman, which will focus on the increasingly difficult issues that arise as children with level-a autism (previously called Asperger’s, HFA or PDD-NOS) travel from teenage years to adulthood. College and employment are the tip of the iceberg. Lack of social relationships and a tendency to shut themselves up in their rooms playing computer games are common battlegrounds. These challenges and more will be addressed in small group settings. The fee is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. (NOTE DATE CHANGED FROM 7/27 to 8/3)
