ASOC Navigating Government Benefits

Navigating the various public benefits available for children and adults with disabilities can be extremely challenging for families. Government agencies have differing disability and financial eligibility criteria. Parents are many times overwhelmed by the various systems and many times do not even know what questions to ask. Jim Huyck, Advocate/Consultant for Public Benefits will be the speaker.
He will discuss applying for and receiving public benefits including SSI, SSDI, SSDI/DAC, MediCal, MediCare, IHSS, Regional Center, Special Education and Department of Rehabilitation.
Jim will do a deeper dive into how to approach employment when receiving Social Security benefits.
